Any tech-savvy person in on the loop is aware of the silent war going on between Apple and Samsung right now. Well, maybe the word ‘war’ is a bit of an exaggeration. It’s more like a silent competition. Wondering what’s the big fight all about? Well, it’s about the race to create an all-screen phone. The cameras, the 5G internet connection, the fingerprint sensor, and the whole trope with the notch. If you don’t know what a notch is, it’s a display cutout you find at the top of your iPhone — and in other smartphones too. You know, that little black thing at the very top of your screen. And despite notches being a design trend in 2018, people HATE IT! And rest assured. Designers hear ya! It looked cool at first, but a notch can look distracting when you’re watching a videos at fullscreen or playing games on your phone. Two of the biggest smartphone producers, Apple and Samsung, are on a mission to eliminate the dark lord that is the evil notch! And no surprise, both of them found a way to remove the damn thing. And while we’re usually not one for taking sides in any debate involving the world’s largest smartphone producers, today we’ll be looking at this ongoing drama between Apple’s and Samsung’s upcoming models. Which has better aesthetically pleasing design? The iPhone 11 or the Samsung Galaxy S10? First things first, let’s take a look at Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, presumably named the Samsung Galaxy S10 — upcoming. The latest rumors suggest a phone with a bigger screen that features a pinhole for a camera. Good news to all notch haters! You go no notch. But some people are quaint enough to point out that it resembles a hole. Or a mole. Or both! It’s either that or the capsule shaped camera on the right side of the phone. However, that’s not all there is to it. The tiny hole slash mole aside, Samsung Galaxy S10 is rumored to have all sets of new features that will have Android lovers drooling — hopefully. This notchless feature lets Samsung eliminate all bezels. Moreover, the screen is rumored to have a fingerprint scanner built in. It’s also bound to be very powerful with the guaranteed inclusion of the Snapdragon 855. It also operates on Samsung’s OneUI on top of Android 9 Pie. The Galaxy S10’s will pack a 6.11-inch display. And meanwhile, the 5G variant can have the mammoth sized screen of 6.66-inch screen. Its front cameras are dual. The triple-lens rear camera arrangement is slated to place it on par with the Huawei P20 Pro. It features a triple-lens setup, including a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. It basically means a 16-megapixel camera sitting above a 13-megapixel camera placed above a 12-megapixel camera. Random access memory is between 8GB and 12GB. Meanwhile internal storage is anywhere between 128GB to 1TB. There are other rumors including a self-healing property that guarantees an anti-scratch anti-fingerprinting composition. Futuristic as it may sound, consumers want to see a new design, dual to triple-lens cameras, in-screen fingerprint scanning, better AR emojis, longer battery life, and a bezel-free look. On the other hand, we’re a year away from the new iPhone 11. Deciding on an actual number or the Roman numeral is still up for consideration. 2018 saw the rise of many improvements in iPhone’s Android competitors, especially in the cameras. Apple’s a little behind on the dual and triple row camera features — among other things. And unfortunately, it’s paying the price dearly. Apple, as a company is doing fine as a whole, but iPhone sales have dropped. People don’t feel the need to have a brand new iPhone anymore, because there’s just no X Factor as of late. Nothing new to dazzle the masses. And that’s why Apple is racing to catch up, and it just might. If the leaks and rumors are to be believed, the iPhone 11 will feature a Samsung screen. It’s going to murder the notch too! This competitor matching move was fueled by Samsung making fun of the iPhone X’s notch. The iPhone 11 is all set to kill the need for a screen cut-out. It might be the thinnest iPhone ever. That’s all thanks to the new OLED panel — touch sensitivity baked inside. It might also feature three lenses too. And these new cameras are offering advanced 3D sensing and make use of stereoscopic vision, dramatically improving augmented-reality capabilities. Now you can talk to people in 3D view and see the world around them while you’re facetiming. Fast charging in the form of Type C is also a popular speculation. Furthermore, Apple’s going to take 3D fingerprint scanning and sensoring to the next level. The iPhone 11 is all set to eliminate any further worries about handling your phone with wet or sweaty hands. Pretty neat. There’s much to be said about Apple gradually jumping into the bandwagon, when it outrightly rejected that notion before. Apple’s always been famous for trend setting. But it looks like the company is more willing to listen to what its consumers have to say. It’s been a long time coming, but now Apple is rumored to have been contemplating on adding a dual sim feature to its new lineup of 2019 phones. People want to see the iPhone 11 offering 5G support in response to Intel’s release of the XMM 8160 chip, too. A redesign is the clamor of the crowd too. Not to say that the current handsets look bad. They’re fabulous. It’s just… They’re becoming a tad too predictable. Wireless charging is also a welcome addition among Apple’s consumers.
